Being a chef
A Chef:
• Always looking for the best quality ingredients
• Always looking for new flavors
• Understands taste and how to get to a desired result to please a palate
• Often uses great tools to be consistent with the outcome
• Often inventive and pushing the envelope and try something new
• Often collects books of recipes and related content
• As a pro can take on a challenge of ingredients and pull out a winner
• May teach others, offer lessons or instruct others on how to prepare great foods
Now, think about how that relates to photography, pro photography, and the pursuit of the elusive perfect photo. Just thinking about that today and how similar the two arts really are.
Update: A cook follows a recipe. A chef creates something unique. A good photograph can rarely be made by following a recipe. Be a chef, create something unique.
